We choose the best meat from Scotland native breeds raised on independent farms and smallholdings, free from antibiotics, growth hormones, or cruelty. Message from Roddy Mc Dougall
“After 36 years in butchering I was drawn back to our true native Scottish Breeds Highland cattle, Shorthorn and Belted Galloway. These I felt are the tastiest and most succulent breeds, “BRED IN SCOTLAND FOR THE SCOTTISH.” And I enjoyed all over the world!
When I opened my own shop I wanted to bring the general public back to my butcher shop by offering lean cuts of beef with the marbling which creates such flavour and succulence.
The cattle are naturally reared in our local hills with a very small carbon footprint, full traceability and accountability from both myself and the farmers who supply me. Hence I am here today with one of my suppliers-Tom Thomson of Woodneuk Farm Tom’s ideas on animal welfare match my own high standards which far exceed the QMS Farm Assurance Scheme.
